Why on Stargate SG-1 Daniel has an apartment most seasons but season 7 episode Chimera he has a house and then he has an apartment again in season 9?

Daniel's first apartment was packed up and closed when he was thought to be dead on Nim's planet in the episode Fire and Water. His team mates were seen going through his things, packing it all away due to security requirements. His second apartment, the one on the higher floor is where he almost killed himself after being exposed to The Light at a Goa'uld pleasure pallace. The place held particularly chilly memories for him and also for Jack who reached him barely in time to save him from jumping to his death. These seem valid reasons for his relocating to a nice, ground-floor existence of a house of his own. Unfortunately the isolation of a house proved to be a bad idea, as he was just too tidy an isolated package for Osiris to resist. And after the fire-fight in his front yard which I'm sure disturbed the neighbors, once again our hero had to pack up and move. Though we didn't see his latest apartment in an episode, we know he returned to apartment life after the Osiris incident because he offered his apartment to Mitchell at the beginning of season nine.
