What is the need to develop a scientific attitude?

Everything modern science does depends upon what's called the empirical model: hypothesis + proof (via experimentation that leads to positive and replicable test results) = thesis.

Although this is somewhat similar to the way a thesis is proven in geometry, it's not the same because (a) it doesn't rely on any specific mathemetical process by nature and (b) it is not to be considered provable from the outset.
