Only the "upright in heart" can find "hope" there... and have the "fears of the world" dissipated in one's heart through God's Word.

"For with thee is the Fountain of Life: in thy Light shall we see light. O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart." (Ps.36:9-10)

In the world is chaos and confusion... the way man's chosen god likes it.

In God's Word is Divinely revealed Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding that the deceptive five physical human senses can't derive from the world.

"...if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the FEAR OF THE LORD and find the knowledge of God.

"For the LORD gives Wisdom, and from His mouth come Knowledge and Understanding." (Prov.2:1-6 NIV)

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and Knowledge of the Holy One is Understanding." (Prov.9:10 NIV)

The nations of the world scramble desperately, looking for peace... and can't find it. Only God can provide the True inner Peace that man needs. The peace the world gives doesn't last... and is soon taken away. The Bible can guide the upright in heart to God's Peace.

"...through the tender mercy of our God... to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of Peace." (Luke 1:78-79)

"PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU, My Peace I give you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED, neither LET IT BE AFRAID." (John 14:27)

Man's god is getting up steam... the world is spinning faster, along with our hearts and our heads. Life is more confused and confusing than ever. Laws are flaunted and/or rewritten... or removed altogether. There are fewer and fewer boundaries of limitation whereby a man might take stock of where he is, where he is going or what he is doing.

Man's god is the god of "lawlessness"... and this is frustration to man.

The Bible sets God's boundaries for men with upright hearts. It tells him what's good for him... and what's bad. Regardless of a man's choice between good and bad -- the solid, trustworthy boundaries remain in place... and always the same.

Confusion and insanity is a global war that all men fight, whether they are aware of it or not. For those with an "aware" and upright heart... the Bible provides the armor and weaponry one needs to fight that war.

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me YE MIGHT HAVE PEACE. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but BE OF GOOD CHEER; I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD." (John 16:33)

Not all who profess Jesus' name are guided by the Bible, though they need to be. But, those with an upright heart are at Peace with its Author... at Peace with their fellowman... and overcoming the world through Christ.

They know that when Jesus returns... the Bible will be the "floor plan" that will guide the whole world into the ways of God, when the King begins to send out His edicts to the nations... which will be enforced by His "upright-hearted" Saints and His Angels.

"And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year [for a thousand years] to WORSHIP THE KING, the Lord of Hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles." (Zech.14:16)

Those to whom God has given "upright hearts" now know and understand that the Bible is God's Guide for "all men." They're just getting a headstart.

"Through thy precepts I get Understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path. (Ps.119:104-105)

"Great Peace have they which love thy Law: and nothing shall offend them." (Ps.119:165)

Those with upright hearts know and understand that the Bible is the Word of the coming King of the Kingdom of God to be established on earth. They know that He wouldn't lead them astray. His Word gives them "Peace and Direction" -- who doesn't want that?

Why do people use 'read your Bible' as proof for Christianity?

It is because Christians are too close-minded to actually find proof of their god.We have all the proof we need... If you are on the outside in the dark, come on in...The Bible is like a huge dictionary/history/riddle book. In it is answers to most of your questions. Some may not be answered directly but instead answered in a story. It is true that some Christians don't know anything else and just say that to get away but it is also true that some people are true Christians and have found their anwers in the Bible. The main thing you must remember, though, is that the Bible is written in riddles so somethings may have more than one meaning.

What best describes how Christians view the Hebrew Bible?

A:The majority of Christians regard the Hebrew Bible, or Old Testament, as a substantially true record of history, its authors inspired by God. Probably most Christians still believe that Moses wrote the first five books, known to Jews as the Torah and to Christians as the Pentateuch. Some regard the stories of creation as allegories, but do not question their underlying truth. Few would willingly acknowledge significant contradictions or historical errors in the Old Testament, with some Christians believing that the entire Bible is inherently free of error. Most Christians regard the Hebrew Bible as in some way preparing for the life and mission of Jesus, with many believing that it contains actual prophecies ofJesus.
