Some states have more representatives than others do to the fact that some states have more citizens in them then others. The reason for more representatives for more people is to show that this state should have more of a say because it has more people. Thus more people that have a say in what is going on.

Yes. In the United States, those states with a larger population have more representation. California and New York have more representatives than Rhode Island or Connecticut. But all states have the same number of senators.

How is a member of the house of representatives chosen?

In the US, the House of Representatives are elected by the voters in their respective states. The number of Representatives a state may have is based on population. Some states have such a low level of population, they have only one member in the House of Representatives. As a consequence of the US Constitution, some low population states have two senators and one House member. This is quite unusual, and normally the reverse is true.

What did The Great Compromise provide?

The Great Compromise, also called the Connecticut Compromise, set up the U.S. Congress into 2 ruling groups (also called "bicameral legislature"). The first group is the House of Representatives, where the states with the largest populations get more representatives than states with small populations. The second group is called the Senate, where every state, regardless of its population, elects 2 representatives each. Together, the House of Representatives and the Senate are called the Congress.

Does each state has the same number of US Representatives?

No, not in the House of Representatives. The number of representatives from each state is directly based on the population. States with larger populations like California have 53 (I'm pretty sure) representatives. Whereas states with smaller populations like Alaska (which, ironically, is our largest state by size) have only 1. This differs from the Senate in which each state has exactly 2 senators to represent them.
