Why does the South have the highest teen pregnancy rate?

The dynamics behind teen pregnancy and the teen Birth Rate (TBR) include poverty, sex abuse and/or sexualization, violent and chaotic homes, lack of health care as an un-pregnant female, economic attraction to an adult male, lack of competing choices, and several others.

The south has a higher teen pregnancy rate and TBR because it leads the north in these stats. If you look at a list of the top ten poorest states, 7 out of the top ten are from the south, half of the top ten most violent states are from the south.
