Why use Linux?

In: Linux

Answer

In some situations is better to use Linux. Most people use it because of its price (you don't pay for the software but for support if you need it,..), reliability (linux is well known for its long uptimes), security (there are no active linux viruses,..). Linux is part of free software movement that figts for the users rights (freedom to use software for any purpose, freedom to modify, freedom to share etc) . On linux is easy to study how it works because the system's code is avliable => users can find and correct bugs themselves and they don't rely on any company.

Answer

I use Linux because I don't have to give some dork in Redmond Washington a DNA sample and I'm not enslaved to third party over priced software to keep my already over priced buggy Windows free of Trojans and viruses and spyware and,and... I can only use on ONE Windows disk per computer where as with Linux if I buy it in the store I can put it on a whole bunch of computers and nobody whines about it I can download it free too.
