Admiral Chester Nimitz was the commander of the entire naval fleet during World War 2 in the Pacific Theater. He is responsible for many victories over the Japanese navy and army. It was he and General MacArthur who gladly signed the instrument of surrender when the Japanese finally surrendered. He was good at thinking outside the box such as when he allowed the large bombers to use the aircraft carriers for the Doolittle Raid and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Highest ranking commander in the Pacific next to Gen MacArthur. Unlike the ETO (European Theater of Operations) which had one commander, Eisenhower; the PTO had two commanders, because it was so large.
