Historians noticed they could distinguish three different times in Egypt's history. The three kingdoms were time periods of Ancient Egypt. Each era represented a different time of growth in Egypt. In the Old Kingdom Pharaoh's were considered gods and ruled supremely over the land. In the Middle Kingdom Egypt experienced a Golden Age. Pharaoh's were expected to be good and wise leaders. In the New Kingdom Egypt became a world power and expanded their borders. Pharaoh's were also the most powerful person in the land.
