Saturn got its name for the Roman god Saturn (Who was basically the same as the Greek Titan Cronus) lord of time. The name was picked because Saturn had the slowest revelation around The sun of any other planet.

The Romans named Saturn after their god of that same name. This convention was borrowed from the Greeks, who had named it after their corresponding God, Cronus. Cronus' connection witht he planet can in turn be traced back to Babylonian astronomy.
