Well, the plot revolves around a high school student who suffers verbal and physical abuse by bullies, which eventually drives him to go on a shooting spree, and the ensuing court case. One can see why schools wanted it banned; I have read it and found it to be an amazing read, so definitely give it a chance, despite the content.

The book "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult has faced challenges and bans in various school districts in the United States since its publication in 2007. The book has been criticized for its graphic content, including violence and sexual themes, which has led to its removal from school library shelves in some communities.

I read it and thought it was very good, I would recommend it. It is an eye opener into the dynamics of high school life, and the effects of bullying on students, though sad it is a great read.

Because Critics think it causes ideas of self-mutilation for young children, so by banning the book, hopefully no ideas would rise about children cutting themselves.
