because they didn't listen to god when he told them not to eat from the tree of knowledge.(Genesis 3:17-24)
Answer
Actually Adam and Eve were expelled from the garden called Eden because they had made themselves impure and unworthy. Eve and her husband both partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (The serpent ... Satan ... Revelation 12). They had become deceived by what they learned by this serpent.
Therefore they were now tainted and not worthy of being around Christ (the tree of life).
They were punished for their sins which included being expelled from the garden and the presence of Christ. The presence of Christ has been explained by many NDE as a radiance of pure and unending love.
This rivalry between the Serpent and Christ you will find documented in many biblical texts, Christ is documented as to have defeated the Serpent by the Apostles. Revelation 12 will provide insight as to the 1/3 of all souls which were deceived by the Serpent in the 1st earth iteration. 2nd Peter Ch 3 will define all 3 reiterations of this earth which are to occur.
God placed angels (Cherubs) at the entrance.
(Genesis 3:24 NIV) "...After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life."
Before they ate the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, Adam and Eve were innocent and naive, no doubt living every day for the present. They knew nothing of death or the pain of childbirth, nor did they need to work for the things they needed.
Having eaten the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they were like gods (Genesis 3:22: "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us..." - this dates from before the adoption of monotheism), knowing all things. The only difference between them and God (or the gods) was that they must die.
The story also has a Tree of Life in the Garden, and by eating its fruit, Adam and Eve would become immortal. In Genesis 3:24, God drove out the man and placed at the entrance to the Garden of Eden, cherubim and a flaming sword to keep [block] the way of the Tree of Life. In the Book of Genesis, Adam and Eve were sent from the Garden of Eden and could not be allowed back for fear they would eat of the second tree.
Found in Genesis 3:24, mighty cherubim and a flaming sword were placed at the entryway to prevent their return.
God drove them out so they wouldn't eat from the tree of life and live forever in a fallen state of sin.
because they ate a fruit they were not supposed to because the devil tempted them some people say that if they had not eaten the fruit we would not wear clothes and we would be very niäve

The garden had no name. It was planted by God in Eden. Eden was the name of the land that was to the east of where God created the first man, Adam.
