A difficult question with many theories.
They were crime fighters as well as politicans. They didnt like the mafia and wanted to get them into court. They seemed to have bucked the US defence manufacturing industries who wanted to get into Vietnam. Not everyone liked them; or their works for the betterment of US society. It was a radical time, the 1960's through to the mid-70's. People were protesting about everything, drugs were everywhere. Young people were adopting rebellious attitudes. Thoughts was changing away from established, Bible-believing moral societies over to much that was radical. The environment was right for assassinations. One man shot John... another shot Robert. What was in their hearts probably came out of the chaos of the times. Sometimes men hate other men for small reasons that dont make much sense. It was a time sort of like that
Oswald wanted attention, to be "Historic". He even called his diary "Historic Diary".
