Most likely he has to turn the ignition on when he tows the car, to prevent the steering lock from activating. As you know, leaving the ignition on will reset the system, so by the time he's back at the workshop the problem has gone away by itself.

I heard that if you leave the keys in the ignition even if you turn the automobile off it will kill the battery. It's a habit some people have, I don't know if it applies here or not.

Seized engine?

Dead or weak battery?

Loose or corroded battery cables?

Bad starter?

Bad starter solenoid?

Bad neutral or clutch safety switch?

check your battery, you might just need a jump. the battery is under the rear seat.

Several things could be happening. Dead Battery? Starter motor? Fuel Filter clogged? It depends on what other things are or are not happening when you are trying to start.
