if the foot pedal is operated with the tractor off, the hydraulic fluid can leak back out of the power steering pump. work the wheel back and forth for a minute or two to get fluid back into the steering box. also, check the hydraulic fluid level.

There is a brass connector between the hydraulic pump and the ps pump. This connector may have broken. or the end of shaft may have broken. This was the case with my L2250 DT
