1- Thermo overload
2- Pumping against too high a head (static pressure) cause by excessive piping or a partial stoppage or undersized piping or to many restrictions such as short radius ells or a bad check valve
3- float not properly set
It's probably in need of maintenance or replacement.
If it's kicking the breaker, there's probably water inside the motor or a short in it.
If it runs for a bit then shuts off, it's probably low on oil inside the motor due to a damaged seal. Some pumps have motors that are thermally protected from overheating. Low oil is causing the motor to overheat and shut off. You'll be able to tell if this is the case if the motor suddenly turns itself back on after a bit. That's the thermal protector resetting itself inside the motor. It will run until it overheats again and shuts off once more. The overheating can also be caused by clogging or debris stuck in the impeller causing the motor to work harder and overheat.
1- Unplugged 2- Impeller blocked 3- On thermo over load 4- stoppage down stream 5- check valve hung up 6- pump burned out
You would need a sump pump repair if the sump pump in your basement is not pumping out water. The purpose of a sump pump is to drain excess water that is part of your waterproofing system.
Centrifugal pump impeller discharges through outlet to manifold in top of unit where water is distibuted through media and what does not evaporate returns to sump. Water level in sump needs to be higher than pump base, as this is the inlet to pump.
as well as an inside pump as long as its protected from freezing temperatures.
If it worked before, then possibly battery is flat.
The sump should work as long as you have a strainer in the shower

Yes it will power a small sump pump.
The pipe coming off of sump pump that goes outside or if allowable, a drain line.
1- Pressure switch located on top to "read" the hydrostaric pressure above the pump housing=2- A float preset to a desired height to keep the water level from over flowing the sump pit=
The oil pump is the the sump.
