Can't get my Gran Turismo 4 to work on my ps2 it is new and will not even start to load?

There is a simple thing you can try, and that is to clean the disk thoroughly (you can even buy wipes for this very purpose). Sometimes this actually works. But, if you have a games disk for GTA IV and it does not appear to be working on your PS3, it could be a faulty disk which you need to take back and get changed. What you could do is to check whether the disk is faulty, if you have a friend who has GTA IV on disk and it is working OK, perhaps you could ask them if you could borrow it and try it out on your games console. Then, if their disk works ok, you know for sure that your disk is faulty. However, most games shops, in my experience, are happy to change a disk purchased in recent times, if you complain that it is faulty.
Presumably you have tried other disks on your PS3? Because if they are working ok on your games console, then it is likely to be the GTA IV disk that is At Fault.
Funnily enough, the first GTA IV disk I bought for my PS3 would not load, and I took it back and got it changed at Gamestation, where I bought it, and everything was fine after that.

∙ 14y agoThe new gran turismo disc is designed for slimline if you have a fat one then you need to find an odl gran turismo disc. i had the same problem but i had a slimline and the disc was an disc so it coulded work. if you have a fat one then you cant get my old disc if not then by a new disc!

PS2: it may be a disc problem, or the systems laser is dirty and is having trouble reading the dual layer format.
PS3: there are known comparability issues with GT4 that prevent it from being played properly.
emulated on PC: the emulator may not support the game, or your PC might not meet system specifications to run the software properly.

Possibly, Gran Turismo 4 that had stunning graphics for a PS2 and that was way back in 2005. The realism on that is fantastic, even though probably Gran Turismo 5 Prologue must be must greater now for the ps3

Gran turismo is so much better they have been out longer than forza, forza have just tried to copy and make better and failed. Gt5 has so much more car makes and cars in general. Forza is more of a street racing game, dragging, as soon as I hear that need for speed comes to mind. Body kits, need for speed again. Gran tursimo is just strictly racing and made for speed and gran turismo has so many faster cars. Gran tursimo even has a car named after them, masarati gran turismo, sounds good, imagine masarati forza, doesn't sound appeling. I can go on and on but that will do. Gran tursimo is better, better cars and graphics. Gran turismo is the game for motorsport cars not street cars. Buy need need for speed instead of forza I would rather.
