What do dogs eat when they are pregnant?

Yes pregnant dogs stop eating one or two days before they have their puppies. I know this by my dog Emma has had about five or more litters she is pregnant right now with her sixth litter due on 01/17/10 and today is 01/16/10.

You can feed them they're normal food the first couple of weeks, then about week for start adding a good quality puppy food to their diet and gradually increase their ration of puppy food and decreasing their adult food till they are eating mostly just the puppy food. The puppy food should be fed throughout lactation also to help the pups grow, then gradually decrese her rations of puppy food and increase her ration of normal food till she is back to her regular diet.

it depends how far on she is in her pregnancy. many go off their food just before they whelp, but it could be an underlying problem and you should consult your vet
