Why won't PlayStation 3 turn on?

The power cable must be properly inserted into the back of the playstation 3. The power must be switched on from the back of the PlayStation 3. Press the small button at the back and it should point to the - dash/line not the o circle. then, at the front of the playstation 3, simply touch your finger gently on top of the power button (the green one). A green light should come on, soon followed by a blue one.

this happend a couple days after i got my xbox.my dad suggested to turn it horizontillay.so we did it still didnt start up.we turned it back on its side(vertical)reset it a few times and it worked.P.S.when xbox falls your supposed to get the rrod(red ring of death or fire)my tipped over twice it still works fine!!:)

If you flip the toggle on the back does the red stand by light turn on?

if so, there may be a small rust build up where the faceplate buttons connect to the system. scrape that off and it will work again. Such an easy fix! takes like 10 minutes!

Check to see if the battery is damaged. if not check your charger and/or borrow another psp to test both of these. if it is a new psp e.g. the ps vita, hold the power button for 20-25 seconds. when the screen turns on select 'restart vita' from the menu. Hope This Helps!

you can try charging it OR try removing the batteries and dust them off (but do not wet them) OR make sure the psp does not come in contact with any food or liquid.

because the playstation does not yet have a set background and screensaver but u set that from the them settings in the settings menu
