The HDMI cable would stop transmitting sound once hooked up to a television if the television and laptop require another, separate, cord for the audio than the visual. The user may also need to set the television speakers on default rather than the computer or laptop speakers being set as default.
HDMI is designed to carry audio with the video signal. There can be a few reasons why the sound isn't working. Here are some suggestions:
If the signal source is using a DVI connector, there will be no sound. Although DVI and HDMI are compatible, DVI does not support sound. Similarly, HDMI - DVI cables are available. If there is a DVI connection anywhere in the signal chain, audio won't make it past the connector.
Many televisions have an option to accept analog audio alongside the HDMI video signal. Check to see what audio input is selected. This is normally in the setup menu on the television. If the audio input option is set to analog or external, the sound on the HDMI connector won't be used.
Make sure that there is an audio signal in the content you are playing. If there is no sound track, there simply won't be any sound.
It is possible that cable or equipment might be faulty. If you can, try different cables, a different source and a different display to see which component is not handling the sound.
If the HDMI source is setup to output multi-channel audio and the TV is stereo then no audio will be heard. Simply set the source to output 2-channel PCM over its HDMI connection
HDMI cables support both vision and sound signals. Note that a DVI cable carries the same vision data but does not carry sound.
Use the HDMI cable if the TV has one and change the TV over to HDMI or whatever HDMI PLUG number you used if you have more than one. Some TVs also need to have settings changed to accept HDMI and the sync.
you will need to plug in the power while play through hdmi. otherwise it won't work.
What you do is hook it up to your PS3 then to your T.V then go to Display Settings on your PS3 and click HDMI and it's going to ask you to switch to the HDMI source then you click ok. It increases the picture and sound making the picture HD and sound clearer. Hope I helped.
Yes a subwoofer can be plugged into a stereo without an amp but it wont sound good and wont hit anywhere near as hard as if you had it runnin through an amp... get an amp
Yes it will work with a 15ft HDMI cable
no PS2 does not have a HDMI
Yes it is. Just make sure your other inputs are in the same source on your reciever. I do this occassionally with my computer. Run the video through HDMI and audio through RCA's. You get way better sound through HDMI so I would try and just use the one cable so you dont have to get more then one cable. But if your doing something different it should work.
You need an HDTV for it to work and the TV has to have an HDMI connection. Then you need to turn your HDTV to the location for the HDMI that was connected
no it works in a HDMI port
If it is a playstation 3 and the TV has HDMI input and you have a HDMI calbe then it will work.
you need to reload or update your internet broswer
