Why would a 1990 BMW 325i continually overheat?

[Edit]

Answer

how long dose it take befoure it overheat

I found a recall something about the heater core running at high temps that will eventually lead to coolant lines bursting and fogging up the interior windows. There is a fix with a new designed radiator cap and something else. I found it by searching google with 1990 BMW 325i. I hope this helps.

Answer

Mine did the same thing however it was a stuck thermostat.

Answer

Did it run low on coolant and if so did you bleed the system with the heater turned on? The heater must be turned on to evacuate all the air from the system. Along with the other items mentioned above. Check the fan clutch. These engines are also known to blow the head gasket if ran to hot. This will also create a hot running situation.
