Why would a 1998 Dodge Avenger not start all of a sudden sounds like it is not getting fuel?

[Edit]

My Avenger did the same thing and it ended up being the fuel pump relay located under the hood, driver side up on the fire wall near the washer fluid tank.....

Answer

if the car is cranking over you should check a couple things. first check if you have a bad spark plug of wire(the should be replaced at 100,000 miles). second you should check if your fuel pump is bad and see if your injectors are clean.

Try checking the crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor if they are bad your car won't crank. (look at coil pack where plug wires are there will be a 3 wire plug going to it put a light tester on the center wire and have a friend crank your car if test light does not stay on the it is probably one of the two sensors mentioned.
