- A week ago I had the same problem. I took it to two places before they discovered the problem: I had a plastic bag melting on my muffler. I had picked it up while driving and it was slowly burning over the last week. Something to mention if you take the car in to get looked at. well it seems like it could be a few things 1. leaking valve cover gasket 2. oil pan is damaged 3. head gasket. i am gonna go with valve cover gasket for sure I just had that same problem Plugged or damaged pcv valve; Loose or damaged oil drain plug; Worn or broken piston rings. u have an oil leak. the leaking oil is blowing or running onto hot parts in vehicle whether it be the exhaust manifold(leaking valve cover gasket)or the exhaust pie, leaks from anywhere lower than exhaust manifold will run down and blow back and usually burn on lower parts of exhaust system
Because your burning your clutch.
The new car burning smell is probably just the oils burning off the engine. As the engine warms up for the first time, it will release a odor that smells like something is burning.
there could be a problem with the motor, or a burning glue gun in the car, or your simply crazy
New car smell? Maybe because of the leather seats (if you have leather seats..)
wired up wrong
got a 2003 trailblazer and you can smell gas when stopping at a corner our when you get out of it
My new car did not smell like burning rubber! When I had a gate smelling like burning rubber, a rubber belt was stuck and instead of turning with a piece of machinery, was caught. I would check the belts in the front of the car and look for one with a worn or burned place on it. It could also be a wire or tube resting on an exhaust manifold or on an exhaust pipe.
A burning smell from a car's brakes means that you are braking very hard or there is a electrical short circuit in the car. Another reason for a burning smell may actually be coming from the car's heater.
because the fan belt is burning
Sounds like you've got burning oil, probably due to a leak.
Generally a burning plastic smell in a car indicates wiring getting hot enough to melt the insulation. This is something that should be looked at immediately to prevent a fire.
Your car may be on fire.
