Maybe because there lonely or bored. Or if you dont treat them well, they might run off and try to find a new family that will take care of them with respect and kindfulness. Also they might be in danger or "going" to be in danger so they leave.

∙ 15y agoDogs are naturally curious. Smells and sounds will interest them and cause them to wander away. They get playing and sniffing and just go where the nose leads them.
