Why would you have spotting 2 weeks before your period on the pill?

Dear Reader; The timing of periods depends on the body clock in the brain. The brain sends signals which cause hormonal changes and the hormones are the signal which starts a period. The hormones in BC pills can cause a period to come early or late. An emotional event or physical trauma can cause hormonal changes and thus a period change. Dwight

∙ 15y agoSpotting can be caused by a number of things, including stress, but in most cases is not a cause for concern.
Hormonal variations are a common reason for spotting while on the pill, particularly if you have not been on it for long, if you have missed a pill, or if you don't take the pill at the same time each day.
Spotting can also be caused by injury to the vagina or cervix, for example from intercourse, insertion of other objects, or pelvic exams. This is more likely to happen things inserted are not well lubricated, so if you feel dry try using an appropriate lubricant like KY jelly. (Remember oil and condoms don't mix!)
Finally, spotting could be caused by an infection or even cancer, so if the problem persists or you have other symptoms, do consult a doctor.

∙ 15y agoWell hun, your not suppost to. This pill is supposed to stop your periods as well as keeping you from getting preagnent. If you had your period the 2nd week then see a doctor.

It's totally normal. It's just dried blood from your last period.

You would not know you are pregnant as you haven't even missed a period yet. A pregnancy is measured from the first day of the last period. So you are 4 weeks when the next period is due. BTW - if you are not spotting, that's a good sign (if you want to be pregnant). No spotting means less chance of miscarriage.

Hi there, usually if you have spotting before your period or roughly the same time, it could be a sign of implantation bleeding as this can happen anywhere between 6+ days after ovulation, since you have indicated that you are spotting after your expected period it could either be a very very light period and that you could be pregnant or it is the start of your period. How far along am i had a normal period in aug and dark spotting for two days in sept which should you go by to calculate your pregnancy?
From what I have been reading about implantation bleeding I would say that the dark spotting is that. I would say that you should estimate a week before the dark spotting and that is when you got pregnant.
