Because in 100% of the cases harm is done to their bodies just by getting pregnant. The female body is not fully mature and ready to for pregnancy until age 24. Getting pregnant in the teens does significant harm to a still maturing reproductive system, as well as the immune system. The baby produces an immunal suppression chemical to prevent the body from ejecting the foreign growth taking place inside. At the time of birth, or a miscarriage, the baby has stopped producing this chemical. In a female body that has a still developing immune system, this can cause damage that can affect the rest of their lives, and substantially increasing the chances of developing cancer.

Where can one find information about unplanned pregnancy?

Your doctor or local family planning unit would be a good place to start if you wanted information about unplanned pregnancy. They would be able to discuss your options with you without putting any undue pressure or bias on your decision. If you don't feel you can go to your doctor, then there are other organisations such as FPA which have information on their website and also a helpline which you can call.

Why is a young woman who is a drinker at a greater risk for unplanned pregnancy?

Because when drunk she will lose her judgment, have sex which might be something she would not normally do, with a person she would not normally care about and she would not remember or care about birth control. Or she would trust him when he says he's got it. Alcohol and drugs makes you lose your good judgment so you do stupid and careless things.
