check fuses
Try turning your light switch back about half of a click until they come on. The switch probably needs replaced
It may be wired wrong.
daytime running lights
Check the fuses.
The dash lights and tail lights on a 1988 Honda Prelude are wired into the same circuit. Open, frayed, or burnt wires in any of the systems can the lights to ceased functioning. Check the number 13 10A fuse in the cabin fuse box, if blown take a spark testers and look for any shorts in the wiring.
What year is the vehicle? Did you check the fuse?
I had this same thing happen in my '90 prelude. It is the switch on your steering wheel. Mine was all one piece with the signal lights and all so, you have to take the steering wheel off and replace the whole part. For quite some time I was able to find the 'sweet spot' on the switch where the lights would work, but everytime I went over a bump they would go out. I finally located another from a junk yard for cheap and that fixed the problem, Note: If your dash lights are not working, your tail lights are not either.
Have you checked the fuses? Different circuits have different fuses. It may be your wiring harness, but check the fuses first.
There is likely a problem with either the headlight switch or the associated circuit.
I have a chev cavlier 1995 and the running lights do no work---on the dash the green light keeps blinking----what should I do?
brakes and running lights have separate fuses. check the fuse then check the brake light switch under the dash

Because you have a very optimistic car.
