It could be you have a stuck fan relay, a contactor that is sticking, or your thermostat is bad.

The differential temp on the thermostat is set too close or your are short of refrigerant. I would have it looked at soon, short cycling is not good for the compressor.

it is possible if you live in a hot climate. i dont understand why you would remove it completely? if you want it to run cooler then but a 180* or 160* thermostat and a get a tune for your fans to turn on earlier.

Generally speaking, a thermostat should command an air conditioner (or a furnace) to turn off once the thermometer inside the thermostat senses that the a given temperature has been reached. For example, if you have manually set your thermostat at 75 degrees, the thermostat's job from that point on is to maintain that temperature, or a temperature within one or two degrees of that. If the thermostat didn't turn the air conditioner off periodically the house would get much cooler than desired; using up a large amount of (expensive) electricity, and over burdening the air conditioner compressor, prematurely wearing it out leading to a costly repair bill. You might look at as the thermostat giving the air conditioner a rest and your wallet a break. Many, if not most thermostats also serve another role which is to safeguard the electronic startup up equipment and motor of the air conditioning unit. You might experience this when attempting to turn the air conditioner back on within a few minutes of it having turned off. This is a built in safeguard feature which protects certain delicate components inside your air conditioner from premature burnout or an electrical overload. If you experience this it's best to wait ten minutes or so for the safety system to reset. When dealing with HVAC systems, notice that there are two systems at work, and two possibilities for failure: the HVAC control system, and the actual HVAC unit. Determine if your problem is in the function of the controller (blank screen, not turning on, relay does not click on when fan or thermostat is set past current temperature), or in the HVAC unit (thermostat relay is clicking but HVAC fan does not turn on, condenser outside fan is not spinning, etc.) If the air conditioner was 'grounded', as I understand it, I would think your HVAC breaker would trip. This should help you figure out your problem.
