Cleaning your hard drive will speed up the speed of it, and make your computer read information better. Cleaning can help your computer as a whole not just one part.
You don't want to clean your hard drive as you risk damaging it. Dust won't hurt it under normal use.
If the Hard drive is IDE (40 pins on the back) you would configure the primary hard drive as Master and secondary hard drive as Slave using the jumpers on the back of the hard drive.
Typically before buying a hard drive you would want to research the speed of data transfer, size of the hard drive, and style of hard drive you are looking to purchase. You would also want to decide if you want to purchase the newer solid state drives available on the market.
I would want to buy something that has a CPU of 3.0 GHz or more and about a 250GB or more hard drive. You can find such computer systems at http://www.vinixcomputer.com
No, you are not. Just make sure that you format the right drive. I would recommend to disconnect the second drive while you are performing installation. When you finish connect the second drive back.
Anything. You can use it to store things just like you would a internal hard drive. So you can store videos, music, data, games, programs, or whatever you could possibly want on an external hard drive.
To get more information on hard drive recovery for a hard drive crash, you might want to look into www.salvagedata.com as they specialize in hard drive recovery for iso systems.
Whether or not the hard drive has Windows installed on it is irrelevant to the actual process of replacing the drive. if you want to preserve the current Windows installation, you'll need to use hard drive imaging software to copy the data from the old drive. Otherwise, you can simply replace the drive and reinstall Windows as you would normally.
Yes you would notice a difference. Also, if you can get a HD with a better cache, you would notice a difference as well.
---- # go to "my computer" # browse to your external hard drive # then open another "my computer" window # drag and drop the file(s) you want to the window displaying the external hard drive. ----
you dont have to buy a hard drive if you dont want to. But if your going to keep buying memory cards, it would be cheaper to buy a hard drive, since memory cards are about $50 each.
You did not say what operating system you were going to put on the hard drive. But if it is windows XP you just have to put the windows XP CD in the CD drive and restart the computer and it should ask you if you want to install...then it will ask if you want to "format" the drive first....say yes...and just let the installation take place....The "formatting" of the drive is what erases everything on the drive...Then after the installation process is finished you should have a "clean" install of windows.."Clean install" is the only way to go in my opinion....Please be aware though that formatting your hard drive erases all data from drive...so if there is anything you want to save you will have to save it to "floppy drive disks" or CD (if you have a CD burner on your system) or to some other removable media....hope this helps To meet DOD standards and erase all data to thwart someone from reading it later on down the road you need to wipe the drive with DBAN or wipedrive.
