Many people like to visit California for the beaches. There's plenty of city offered as well as surf like Sacramento, San Francisco, LA, and San Diego. More is heard about Southern California since when most people speak of visiting California, it's for the sun and the beaches and that is Southern California's main offerings year round. LA is a huge capitol of the entertainment industry as well as the fashion industry. You have Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Anaheim right there with LA which are all popular tourist attractions with Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Seaworld just down the road in San Diego.
