Exact same issue. Third light only light that works. If you apply pressure on hazard switch all 3 lights will work. Apparent short in Hazard switch. Bought replacement switch on auction site for $60(includes cruise, turn, wiper&hazard). Will update after install if issue not resolved.

Could B the Brake light switch that is activated by the brake prdel ynder the drivers dash & also the brake lights run through the turn-signal switch which runs through the steering colume.

More than likely it is the turn signal switch in the steering column. Check by wiggling the hazard switch while pedal is depressed.

I had the same problem. It was the brake pedal switch located on the steering column. I replaced myself, switch was about if I remember correctly.

Remove the tail light cover. there' a backplane that the lights plug into and the harness plugs into. This is known to go bad. You can find it at the dealer, but it'll cost you. Go to your local discount auto parts place, look in the section that sells HELP brand parts, there you can buy both left and right backplanes for well under the cost of a factory one. Note of warning, mine was a TIGHT fit, almost too tight, but /pr vs. each, I'll make it fit.

+1 The above is very common problem.

Here is what you are looking for: http://www.theautopartsshop.com/Search/Default.aspx?Pat=1999+Chevrolet+Tahoe+Tail-Light&Key=Year+Auto+Car-USA+Parts&gcode=ChevroletTahoe1999LKQGM28071012864&gpartnum=99CheTahoe%2FLKQGM2807101

It is likely the brake switch on the steering column as others have indicated. Had same problem on 94 Sierra. Can be replaced or maybe cleaned to get contact.

My 3rd brake light would still work, but hazards or brake lights would not. When I played with the hazard light switch they would work and the brake lights would work. Purchased new hazard/Blinker/wiper switch on eBay for 1/4 the price of dealership (Around ). About 3 hours to slowly take steering column and dash apart to replace.

Foot pedal switch is good it is working 3rd brake light that is not going through turn signal switch.Hazard light switch in turn signal switch gets hot and distorts losing contact causing brake light and turn signal issues

Tahoe 2002 no brake lights?

If your brakes lights are not working and all of your other lights are OK try replacing your "brake stop switch". You may have to have either your local auto shop or local dealer replace the switch because it's hard to do yourself. I had the same problem on my Tahoe and replacing the brake stop switch solved it right away.

Why would the tail lights and dash lights not work on a 1992 Honda Prelude with an H22A4 swap if all the other lights work including the brake light?

Have you checked the fuses? Different circuits have different fuses. It may be your wiring harness, but check the fuses first.

Where is the fuse for the third brake light on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe?

Fuse for the "Third" Brake LightAlthough I have no experience with the Chevy Tahoe, the systems are similar for almost all vehicles. The third brake light is tied into the wiring for the other brake lights and is protected by the SAME fuse they are. Thus, there is no separate fuse for the third brake light. Therefore, IF your other brake lights are working, then a failure of the third brake light to activate IS NOT caused by a fuse, but instead an "open circuit" condition in the "dedicated" third brakelight wiring [from where its wire "splits" off of the wiring harness to the other brake lights].This is usually caused by a connector which has become disconnected, or a cut or broken wire.

No tail lights all other lights working changed bulbs and checked fuses still nothing?

I had this same problem. If the bulbs and the fuses are good its most likely the brake switch. Its a plunger like switch on the brake pedal. Its usually the only thing on the brake pedal. Its pretty easy and cheap to change. I would start there.

1990 240 DL - Brakes lights are out - no owners manual - Fuse box open which fuse do you check for this?

Check all the fuses and replace all of the blown fuses. If you still have no brake lights check your brake light switch. The brake light circuit also runs through a red cylindrical shaped relay called the "failure sensor" which lights and indicator bulb in the intrument cluster if a brake light bulb or some other bulb has failed. Internal failure in this part will often have the symptom "No brake lights".

Your brakes lights on your 84 cadi Seville are not working the bulbs and fuse are good all other lights are working what can you do next?

Possible bad switch on the brake pedal? When you push on the brake pedal, it activates a switch, that switch turns on your brake lights. If the bulbs and fuses are ok, check the switch with an ohmeter.
