You either have the WRONG push rods in it, or you are not adjusting the valves correctly. There is a special way to adjust the valves and it would take to long to explain it to you. They don't just tighten all the way down. You need to get a book and READ about adjusting the valves.
It could keep the engine from running, but not the valves from moving.
You may have a vacuum leak
That would be a destroked motor, and would result in a 285.
theres four things a motor has gotta have to run regaurdless of anything anyone says..........air . fuel, spark, and compression you gotta have all four or you ain't gonna get it running
There is a separate motor that runs the odometer. It is not running for some reasson. TAke it to a speedo shop.
Timing not set properly, carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, cracked head, blown head gasket, overheating.
A guess would be 5-600lbs
motor mounts?
The 5.3L engine would equal aprox 327 cubic inches.
Most likely you either.... 1. ran the motor out of oil 2. had an oil pump failure 3. had a bearing failure No matter the reason, if the motor stopped, chances are that you seized up the motor.
A 5.0L would equal a 305 cu.in.
A worn belt can make a squealing sound with the motor running. A seized clutch can also make this sound.
