I do not think these have a cable. Mine has a sensor wich is located on the driver side, there is a small ( 13 mm? ) bolt, undo that, mark the position of the unit and pull that out look at the plastic gear inside if it is worn replace it, if not change the sensor. Mine was doing the same thing I contacted mechanic and that is what he told me, the sensor is about 25 bucks at rock auto, or a few more $$ if you have a Baxter auto store where youre at. Hope this helps.
