∙ 15y agoIt is very wise to take your child to the doctor or if it's happening too often take your child to the ER. Their could be various reasons: * Congested chest * Virus * Bronchitis * Pneumonia * Cold Please keep your child away from things such as: * Milk * Ice Cream * Any dairy products as these can make the phlegm worse. You didn't say how old your child is, but if they are 2 years and up they can have Pineapple Juice (add a little water if you like) as this will help cut the phlegm. This will help until you can get in to see your doctor. Please do not delay!
