There could be many reasons. But the ones I am familiar with are:
If you get an error displayed, try one of the CD cleaners that has a brush on the CD to clean the lens.
If there is no power, check the fuse. You will have to find the correct fuse in the owner's manual.
If it is only temporary or intermittent:
1. When a warm CD gets fogged up in cold weather.
2. When there is dirt or scratches on the CD.
3. When a user-created CDR or CDR/W CD is used that is not compatiable.
other than that, you will have to take it Mazda.
