if your computer runs for a while then shuts down, this is often a lack of power to the system. Try removing anything you can live without (modem card if you use ethernet, soundcard, extra fans) and see if will work then. Most likely this won't work but its worth a shot as the only other alternative if it is a lack of power, is to buy a new PSU will will run you around $100-$200 and is the most difficult piece to install in a computer.
