Why does your mother expect you to man up if you like to watch cartoons?

The generation gap.

In your mother's day, Cartoons were something that was intended strictly for kids. The most adult content you would see in a cartoon was G.I. Joe shooting at Cobra. The Simpsons was the first mass-market animated series that was intended for older kids.

South Park, Archer, and other wildly offensive shows targeted at far-older audiences are a very recent phenomena. While they may be animated like Looney Tunes, they have very different content.

To common knowledge, and common sense, adults assume this because cartoons is normally the interest of CHILDREN, but each person has a right to do what they want to do, like watch cartoons even as an adult! A learning disorder is completely irrelevant to cartoons. It doesn't matter what age you are and what illness whatsoever you have to watch cartoons otherwise!

Because usually cartoons are intended for children and most think that is a sign of immaturity, and that your withdrawing into your child hood. She could also think you'd rather have a different colorful world than reality, and would rather stare at a box then hang with friends. Having said that almost no body can say they don't like Family Guy, or sponge bob because they were intend for everyone enjoyment, and are just plain old hilarious.

Even the most social of us watch cartoons, and heck theirs plenty of good bonding that can be done over cartoons. The bottom line is every one likes them and watches, so its impossible to assume your antisocial or anything for that matter!

Because they are A-holes and secretly want to be watching cartoons also... I`m 30. I watch cartoons. All kinds. I DO WHAT I WANT =o)
