Wich mountains have higher peaks the appalachian mountains or the rocky mountains?

[Edit]

Answer

The Appalachian mountains are ancient geologically and so have worn down due to erosion, weather and so on. At 6,684 feet, Mt. Mitchell is the highest point in the Appalachians. The Rockies are younger and so have some very high peaks. The Rocky's highest peak is Colorado's Mt. Elbert at 14,440 feet.
