There is no way to tell whether he will or not. Mubarak has been in power for around 30 years, and he shows no signs of backing down. He has known for quite some years that he is not well liked by the Egyptian people: especially college students, and has not backed down or tried to conform to their needs yet. But the situation is escalating beyond what it has before, and there is no telling where it is headed. All that can be said for sure is that something needs to change. Mubarak is the symbol of 30 years of repression for the Egyptian people and they will not stand for it any longer. Whether he resigns this week, next week, or next month it is not known, but with the situation as it is, it is clear he will not be in power for much longer.

Hosni Mubarak resigned from his position as president of Egypt after 30 years. The reason for his departure is the massive protest held by the Egyptian people, demanding his resignation, and the persuasion of the American president, Barak Obama, who told Mubarak to resign sooner than later for his situation could most definitely aggravate.
