Yes, the sigma is a good lens for the money. One cannot expect professional result with this chepo lens but for an enthusiast it will serve the purpose.

If it is an autofocus lens then it will fit on current Canon bodies, assuming it is a Canon mount lens. For older lenses they may work with an adaptor but some metering functions may be lost.
