ok, here goes...

you CAN use an azg motor in an aeg car. however, it is only about a 95% bolt-in job. you will need to salvage a few parts from your aeg motor, namely the manifolds (both upper intake w/ the throttle body and the exhaust manifold, azg has a single-outlet, aeg has the dual). the azg features drive-by-wire throttle, the aeg does not. plus, it's just easier to pull the upper intake off as a whole anyways, and it has to come off to get the exhaust manifold off the downpipe.

once you've got both motors side-by-side, look and see if anything is different (like the exhaust manifold for instance). anything that looks blatantly different (there's not much), swap it over. once your azg has the upper intake and exhaust manifolds from your aeg on there, it can be swapped back in (with a fresh timing belt and water pump!).

enjoy the benefits of oil squirters on the pistons (that's the other major change, drive-by-wire being the first).

pretty much any mk4 2.0 will bolt-in to one another, except for the later 2003-2005 motors. they had some funky things going on with the fueling system, one variant even had variable valve timing...it's a bit of a mess. I'm sure though, that on the non-vvt cars, one could just swap their upper and lower intakes with the fuel rail and have at on an earlier car and vice-versa.

Where is the thermostat located on a 2000 VW Jetta?

Per the 2001 Bentley Service Manual for 1999-2002 models, in the 2.0 liter engines AEG, AVH and AZG, the thermostat is in the block at the forward side of the engine, behind the water outlet above and left of the dipstick tube. Always repace the O-ring, install with the copper end inside the block. Do not mix coolant types unless compatability is certified. OEM is G12 (pink). Just in case the thermostat isn't found at the other end of the upper radiator hose... earlier models put it at the other end of the lower radiator hose. If the car has power-steering the Power Steering pump and mounting bracket have to be removed to get to the thermostat housing.

Is Aluminium zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly the same as parabans?

"Top answer" says "Yes", totally WRONG. Correct answer is: "NO". Firstly, correct spelling is "paraben" with an "e". Parabens are a group of similar ORGANIC (carbon based) compounds that DON'T contain any aluminum or zirconium. Aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly (aka "AZG") is totally different, as the image shows. The only commonality: both are typical ingredients in skin care products.
