What is the difference between braces and porcelain veneers?

Braces are often used to treat severely misaligned teeth, such as those seen in an overbite, underbite, or cross bite. They are also sometimes used to help correct gaps between the teeth or certain types of crowding. Braces are a long-term commitment, as they are semi-permanent fixtures in the mouth for a pre-determined length of time. There are also highly complex cleaning methods involved to keep your teeth free from bacteria. Veneers are perfect for people who have crooked or discolored teeth, or who want to correct mild gaps. The procedure results in natural, beautiful-looking teeth in as little as two to three appointments, giving them a huge time advantage over braces. They are as effective as braces to fill in small gaps between existing teeth. If you are looking for Porcelain Veneers treatment My Island Dentist team provide help to improve your smile.

I'm getting the spacers AKA separators put in my mouth in a week or so and i want to know what they are like?

I don't really think that was the "answer" the asker was looking for. Take it from someone who has them. It could hurt for some people, they stick a separator in between two pushing teeth to make a space for your braces. If your mouth is over crowded, and has absolutely NO gaps, (like mine) then it could hurt because there is not enough room for a gap. If your teeth have gaps but your molars are pushing, I guess it wouldn't hurt MORE, because they can adjust easily, but it will hurt since your teeth aren't used to the position that the spacer will cause. I wouldn't know what it would feel like with gaps, because I have no gaps. Good Luck! <3 Carter

Why do some shapes tessellate and some don't?

Tessellation is repeating a pattern over and over and filling an area with no overlaps and no gaps. Some shapes can't do this, because they don't fit with themselves without leaving big gaps between the parts.

What do sweets do to your teeth?

Sweets can put a hole in your teeth, or you can give you Gingivitis.Gingivitis Gingivitis can be defined as inflammation of the gingival tissue without loss of tooth attachment (i.e.periodontal ligament). Gingivitis is an irritation of the gums. It is usually caused by bacterial plaque that accumulates in the small gaps between the gums and the teeth and by calculus (tartar) that forms on the teeth. These accumulations may be tiny, even microscopic, but the bacteria in them produce foreign chemicals and toxins that cause inflammation of the gums around the teeth. This inflammation can, over the years, cause deep pockets between the teeth and gums and loss of bone around teeth—an effect otherwise known as periodontitis. Since the bone in the jaws holds the teeth into the jaws, the loss of bone from periodontitis can cause teeth over the years to become loose and eventually to fall out or need to be extracted because of acute infection.Or you can just have decayed or rotted teeth.

What are porcelain veneers?

Dental veneers called porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates. Veneers are beautiful coverings that are produced in a lab and then placed over chipped or broken teeth, also used for misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped and teeth with gaps between them. Answer Dental veneers are literally covers for damaged or injured teeth. They fit like a shell over existing teeth to fill in gaps, smooth surfaces, protect tooth enamel worn down by age, and straighten uneven tooth alignment, cracks, and chipped teeth.
