Yes pond comets and other pond goldfish get along with koi, however koi can get over 24 inches long when a comet typically doesn't grow more than 12 inches- that's quite a considerable difference in size (which is why its often best to keep koi with other koi and goldfish with other goldfish).

∙ 14y agoNo they will not. If the goldfish are too large the Koi will leave them alone. If however they are small then if the Koi can fit them into their mouths they will indeed eat goldfish and any other fish small enough to fit. Koi were developed by the Japanese to live in ponds and be viewed from above. That is why they have very broad backs and grow to over 2 feet long. Please don't condem them to a life in a tank. Retailers who sell Koi to folks who don't have ponds are condemming the fish to a slow and nasty death.
