  • No, you kill bugs with insecticide. See your doctor for a lotion with DDT for human application.
  • However, I have also heard that lice preparations work on Bed bugs (Crabs). These are available over the counter.
  • YES. Alcohol will kill bed bugs and bed bug eggs, but you need to use 70%-90% Isopropyl alcohol. It will kill on contact only but will have no residual effect like killing bugs or eggs that were not wet by your spray bottle.
  • Use isoproyl 99% you can get it at Walmart attach a spray head most other house hold cleaner sprayer heads screw right on. Generously spray all cracks in your wood funiture soak it good only works if you can get direct contact with them also dust your carpets with diatomaceous earth and fill a rose and plant duster with the powder and pump away everwhere not harmfull to pets or humans but dries up the little buggers...hehe...this also can be found at ace hardware style stores or online. Leave it in your carpet for a good week! Wash all your clothes that are in dressers this is a good time to spray those cracks and seems where the wood comes together. Last but not least use this bug bomb called hot shot and you can buy the spray of the same name. Bug bomb again 12 days later. That will be when all the left over eggs have hatched and are in stage one looking for their first blood meal. Remove pets and humans when bug bombing, read can for time duration. This whole series of applications is the only way we got rid of ours...

Bedbugs are often difficult to kill. Rubbing alcohol may be helpful to kill them only when used as part of a treatment. First vacuum all areas suspected of harboring the bugs or their eggs. Dispose of the vacuum bag immediately. Wash and dry all washable items in as hot of temperatures as they can stand without ruining them. Use a hand steamer to cover all areas that will tolerate the heat and moisture. Then spray the area with at least a 9:1 91 percent alcohol to water solution. Let dry. Continue to use the alcohol spray whenever bedbugs are seen or to treat small creviced areas.

[1] Distilled rubbing alcohol spray kills bed bugs on contact, in the here and now. The good news is its environmentally-friendly lack of residue. Consequently, the bad news is repeated follow-up applications. [2] So alcohol sprays must be backed up by other controls. [3] One's sanitation. Clutter gives shelter to bed bugs, and their eggs. [4] Another's professional exterminators. For some low-toxicity insecticides such as growth regulators and pyrethroids are needed.

Rubbing alcohol is not an insecticide and should not be used to kill bedbugs. It may be very poisonous for them, but it is also harmfull to you. Alcohol is highly flammable!
