A combo of a political, tax, economic and social question....your guess is as good as anyones. None is planned.
Considering this rebate seems to have worked very poorly, was problem ridden and hard to administer...and may have actually generated a good deal of ill-will toward the politicians....it would seem unlikely. It is not even discussed as a prtion of any of the next recvery plans...making it even more unlikely. [Update] There may not be more stimulus checks, but there will be more tax credits. In Obama's 2010 budget (which looks forward to the next ten years) there are plans to extend to 2013, the "Making Work Pay" $400/$800 tax cut for workers, originally enacted as part of the economic stimulus plan. It also seeks to make permanent the expansion of the child tax credit and the newly enlarged college credit now called the American Opportunity Tax Credit ------------------------------------------------------ A bit more details found here: (Link moved to proper location).
No stimulus check is available at this time during the year 2010.
If you need information regarding an economic stimulus payment issued in 2008 please call IRS, toll free, at 800-829-1040.
In his latest appearance before Congress, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke said that he recommended a second economic stimulus package. Whether or not that includes a check to every American is another thing. Many in Congress want to spend it on infrastructure and government programs instead of following Mr. Bernanke's recommendation of helping the housing and credit markets. The Bush administration was open to the idea. It is being talked about in Congress. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unfortunately, nobody truly knows yet (sorry!). I've written a post explaining the latest developments, which I will update frequently, and suspected uses of the second stimulus package proposed by Obama: http://www.onemillionbucks.net/2009/01/second-stimulus-check-coming.htmlSupposedly there may be "an emergency rebate check" but it's unclear as of yet.

Anyone making less than $3,000.00 in 2007 is not eligible for a stimulus check. Also, the economic stimulus law allows Social Security recipients and recipients of certain veterans' benefits and Railroad Retirement benefits to count those benefits towards the qualifying income requirement of $3,000. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) does not count as qualifying income for the stimulus payment.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provided for a one-time payment of $250 to individuals who receive Social Security or Supplemental Security Income benefits. Most of the payments were delivered by late May 2009. There is no economic stimulus check for 2010.
No such thing
Will I receive a stimulus check?
