Tramadol is not screened for and should not produce any sort of positive on a standard drug test. Can be detected in urine with mass spectrometer ( GC/MS), but it is not standard procedure even for urine tests which are processed in labs (people order this test need to pay extra for this).

∙ 14y agoThere are a number of factors that determine this. One factor is whether or not it is given P.O. or IM. Other factors include if a person has been on the drug for a while and if so how long and how much. Does the patient have renal or hepatic impairment? The half life of tramadol is about 5-7 hours in a young adult. So obviously there are some considerations that need to be appreciated before one can answer the question.

Tramadol will not show up as anything on a urine drug test. I have taken tramadol many, many times while also getting drug tested several times weekly. It does not show up on a lab test either, unless the tester specifically writes in that they want the urine tested for tramadol. It is not an opiate. Therefore, it would make sense that it would not show up on a swab test either.
