You can apply for a card, However during a bankruptcy a special code will show up from the credit bearau. as soon as a lending institution sees that code, they will deny you immediatly, And it will hurt your score even more trying to open up so many new accounts, Seems like with a bankruptcy you would learn your lesson, It appears to me that you getting right back to where you were. If it is a Chapter 13, no - you can't do anything effecting your financial situation without the approval of the administrator (doing so will have your cased dismissed at least, and can even lead to contempt of court charges...as you promised you wouldn't in your filing)...if it is a C 7, you'll more than likely be refused anyway.
It is up to the credit card company/bank to give you a credit card. If they approve you, that is their risk. Lately, card companies purposely target people with bad credit (including people who have gone through bankruptcy) because they have a better chance of making a profit through late fees and high interest. Also, new bankruptcy laws state that credit card debt can now not be relieved through bankruptcy. So, if you have bad credit or you are an idiot with your money, don't fool around with credit cards.
Anything you put on the credit cards you are filing on, up to 3 months befor you file the mailing list of creditors could legally be contested. EXAMPLE- If I took out money from the check exchange to pay for the bankrupt, being so close to the bankrupt date, they could contest that I knew I was going to file & saw it as a 'last chance to get $ I don't have to pay back. I just got done filing our chapter 7 myself, with no lawyer. Maybe the hours of research I did can help someone out.
If you charge debt with the intention of never repaying it, that could constitute fraud warranting a denial of your discharge. If you simply charge something with intent to repay, but it turns out that you cannot repay, that would not constitute fraud and shouldn't cause a problem.
People with bankruptcy can get credit cards from some companies that offer the option. While it is easy to get, interest rates and fees will be much higher as a result, until one can improve their credit score.
Yes you can get a credit card, and it will help you rebuild your credit if paid on time. Go Google and type in credit cards for people with bad credit, you will get loads of hits.
Yes, but when and how much depends not only on the lender - but what type of loan and your payment/income, etc history since the BK. Any blemishes are a very bad thing.
To get credit cards after bankruptcy you can apply to credit companies that you haven't had previous experience with or go with your old company and get a card with a lower limit on it.
The bankruptcy will appear on their credit if you include this card in your bankruptcy. If you leave the card off the bankruptcy, it will not effect their credit.
With a debit card you can only use money that you put in a bank and with a credit card you are using the money from the credit card company which can lead to bankruptcy if you are not careful.
If you are on the brink of bankruptcy... you probably can't get a credit card. Opps... didn't read that right. Sorry. I really don't know.
"Whether a debtor keeps credit cards after filing bankruptcy is up to the credit card company. If you are discharging a credit card they will cancel the card unless you reaffirm the debt. Even if you have a zero balance the credit card company might cancel the card."
When in bankruptcy it is not possible to have a credit card. Once the terms of the bankruptcy have been met, some credit card companies will consider issuing a credit card to some people.
Filing bankruptcy does not remove a charge off report from a credit card on your credit report. It just adds bankruptcy to your credit report.
It is possible to recover from a bankruptcy. You should start by getting a secured credit card to rebuild credit. After about seven years you should be able to find a standard credit card that will allow you to get a card.
