• In most cases yes, your baby will be fine when your husband comes home from deployment. Often the Armed Forces offer psychological counseling if a soldier shows any signs of Post Traumatic Stress. Most men who are at war often do not want to talk about it because of the Horror of the war, but there are groups where soldiers can gather to discuss how they feel or simply talk things out with each other as only those who were in active duty will know the terrible feelings they have endured. You should be able to tell by your correspondence with your husband while he was deployed if he will be basically alright when he gets home. It is important you give him quality time with you and the baby and take things easy and don't have too many family members or friends over immediately. This allows your husband to regain his thoughts and get use to the fact he is home safe and sound. He may have some guilt of surviving when some of his buddies did not and he may question himself on 'why he servived.' Signs your husband may not be handling being at home after the horrific experiences he may have endured are: drinking too much; jumpy and nervous; after being home for a month not wanting to see family or friends; is moody or gets angry quickly; can't sleep and may have insomnia or nightmares (he should seek psychological counseling); not wanting to be intimate with you or shows any sign of loving care towards you or the baby. Thank God he made it home safe and sound for all that he has done for his country and other countries.
