My dog ate ant poison but she is fine now, just give him some milk or make sure he drinks plenty of water, then he will likely be okay.

The problem may be more from the packaging, if they ate parts of that, too, than from the small amount of poisons. Those plastics or metal containers can cause stomach and intestinal issues if they are not easily passed in the stool. Call a poison control center or your vet for help in preventing those GI problems.

In the meantime, watch their stools to be sure they are having them as usual, look for excess mucus or blood in the stool, if they are not eating as usual, or if their bellies get hard and big, and report that to a vet as soon as possible. Some of the things that have been suggested until you can speak to someone to help, is to feed them a piece or two of bread which can help push the smaller pieces through the bowel with bread balls to help cover any sharp edges, or soak 2 or 3 cotton balls (consider the size of the dog) in olive oil or vegetable oil and feed them to the dog (they will think you are wonderful for the treat). The cotton will not harm them in any way and, like the bread, it can wrap around pieces of the containers that might have sharp edges until they are passed through.

Depending on the amount the dog has ingested it could kill the dog. Take the dog into the vets immediately and give the brand name of the ant poison to the vet. Next time think before using containers of ant poison where your dog or other wild life can get to it.

It depends on the kind of poison and how much. If the poison is something like the bait "Max Force" (trade name, sorry), forget about it; it is harmless except to ants and a few other invertebrates, but if it is one of the sprayed insecticides that are dangerous to practically everything (example: chlorpyrifos) then my advice probably already is too late. If in doubt, grab the dog and the poison container with its label and get both of them to the vet as quickly as possible. S/he might be able to save the dog or not, but if s/he cannot, you cannot, except possibly by making the dog vomit as soon as possible.
