Would a automatic transmission using drive gear to neutral gear and neutral gear to drive gear at every stop increase wear and tear? |

auto trans
well theres wear on the linkage from moving it more than you need to, maybe internal wear from the torque converter locking and unlocking and the manual shifting of gears. Nothing really earth shattering but definately not necessary, the transmission is designed to be placed in drive and left there unless traction situations cause you to move it or you need to put it in reverse. I think since it was designed to operate that way that doing it your way might cause premature wear to some internal parts and linkage.
You save on gas by doing it but defenitely wear and tear on transmission.
