Would a faulty kickdown cable prevent gear change above 2nd gear? |

I believe so..tahts what my dad found in my car..and we're working to fix it...because it will shift once above 4500 rpm..but only because of pressure in the transmission....causeing it to naturally shift as if you we're flooring it.
